Barton nets 10 goals in Jayhawk Conference win over Coffeyville
The Barton Community College women’s soccer team scored a 10-0 win over Coffeyville Tuesday at Cougars Fields to remain unbeaten in Jayhawk Conference play. The Cougars strung 6 goals together in a matter of 10 minutes in the opening half as they cruised to the easy. It was the 2nd time this year Barton has reached double digit goals in a game. In its 4 Jayhawk wins, Barton has scored 46 goals.
Highlights
Theresa Crane put Barton the board 14:29 into the game on a pass in the box from Jaime Havran. Shala Giardini scored the 1st of 4 straight goals just 30 seconds later on a thru ball from Jazsmyne Beverly and the onslaught was on. Giardini scored at the 18:20-mark, the 20:10-mark and the 21:41 mark for a 5-0 lead. Flavia Bernardes capped the 6-goal, 10-minute stretch with a goal at the 24:40 mark. That is how the game went to half.
Bernardes added two more 2nd half goals for a hat trick and Giardini netted a 5th goal in the contest. Danielle Mayo capped the scoring in the final minutes off a corner kick for the 10-0 win. Barton fired 33 shots at Coffeyville of which 21 were on goal. Coffeyville got off just 1 shot the entire game.
