Barton struggles on the road at Johnson
The Barton County Community College women’s soccer team dropped just their second Jayhawk Conference contest with a 4-0 loss at No. 13 Johnson County. The Cougars’ overall record fell to 8-6, but they are still in the hunt to host a first round playoff game. Barton will stay on the road, traveling to Dodge City on Wednesday, looking to close out the regular season on a winning note.

Highlights
The Cougars were in trouble from the start going on the road to face No. 13 ranked Johnson County, holding a record of 12-1-1. They gave up their first goal of the contest just 11 minutes in, with Andree Volin scoring for Cavaliers. 5 minutes later, Johnson was on the board again with a goal from Chelsea Sheahan. With a quick 2-0 lead, the Barton defense held tight until late in the 2nd half. With 11 minutes left to play, Fivi Mihay scored off of a deflection to boost the lead to 3-0. At 9 minutes to go, Natasha Morris capped the scoring and put the Cavaliers ahead for good, 4-0.

Barton is looking to end the regular season on a winning note when they travel to Dodge City to face the Conquistadors on Wednesday. They are still in the running to host a first round playoff game. With a record of 8-6, 6-2 in the Jayhawk, the Cougars are currently in 3rd place in the Jayhawk Conference.
