| Barton wraps up No. 3 seed in Region VI
The Barton County Community College women’s soccer team wrapped
the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Region VI tournament with a 1-0
win over Neosho County Wednesday in Chanute. The gives the Cougars
a 4-2-1 mark in conference play with just one game remaining on
the schedule. The Cougars are 9-6-4 overall. Neosho fell to 0-12
with the loss and 0-8 in conference.
Highlights
The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie at the intermission with the
Cougars struggling to find the back of the net. Barton finally
took a 1-0 just 7 minutes into the 2nd half when Richelle Galeaz
scored for the 15th time this season. That would be the only
scoring the game would see.
Barton
fired off 12 shots on the Neosho goalkeeper, but could get just
Galeaz’s
shot in goal. Neosho was only able to get off 3 shots during
the loss.
