Ferguson takes over Barton women's basketball program
Keith Ferguson will take over the Barton Community College women's basketball program for Jill Barclay who resigned at the end of the last season. He comes to Barton from Brown Mackie College where he was the head coach of the women's program there for two seasons. In those two years, he compiled an overall record of 38-23. His 38 wins place him second in BMC women’s coaching list. He will take over a Barton team that has finished with the best record in the Jayhawk Conference the past 3 seasons.

In his last season at Brown Mackie, Coach Ferguson led the Lions to their best season in school history. Brown Mackie finished the year 23-7 ranked No. 20 in NJCAA Division II and was ranked as high as No. 10 during the season. At Brown Mackie he also recruited the school’s first NJCAA 1st team All American and had 7 players make All Region in just two years.

Before taking over at Brown Mackie Coach Ferguson was an assistant coach at Salina Central High School under Dave Morris for one year. The Lady Mustangs went 10-11 that year and had the best season in the last ten years.

Prior to Salina Central Coach Ferguson was the top assistant at Kansas Wesleyan University. Coach Ferguson was in charge of recruiting and helped with day to day operations with the team. At Kansas Wesleyan he helped recruit the school’s first All American and in his second year helped KWU to a 16-15 record the 4th best all time in school history.

During the 2002-2004 seasons he was a student assistant under Brett Erkenbrack at Cloud County Community College.

After graduating from Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg, Kansas he went to Cloud County Community College and then transferred to Bethany College and earned his bachelor in 2008.
