Barton knocks off No. 11 Pratt to stay unbeaten on season
The Barton Community College volleyball team remained unbeaten with a big conference over nationally ranked Pratt at the Barton Gym. The Cougars defeated No. 11 Pratt in 3 sets winning 25-21, 26-24, and 25-17 for the Jayhawk West win. Barton is now 2-0 in the West and a perfect 8-0 on the season. Barton is back at home next week against Colby in West action as well.

Highlights
Barton made its presence known as a contender in the Jayhawk West with a hard-fought win over the ranked Beavers. Barton committed just 8 errors in 85 attempts in the contest. Barton had only 4 receiving errors as well in the West win.

Taylor Brown led Barton with 10 kills to just 1 error on 28 attempts as six different Cougars had part of the 31 kills. Mengya Wang, as usual, led Barton with 21 assists and Ana Paula Pego had 20 digs to pace the Cougars. Also recording double digit digs for the Cougars was Brown with 11.

Laura Macek recorded 5 blocks – 4 solo – to lead Barton followed by Bailey Gehring with 4. Pego and Raney Okeson each had 2 service aces as well.

Barton will attempt to move to 3-0 in the West with another home date against Colby Wednesday at the Barton Gym.
