Gay runs 2nd fastest 200m ever; takes sprint double at US Championships
Former Barton County Community College sprinter Tyson Gay cemented his title as the current fastest man in the world with a pair of gold medals at the recent USA Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Gay won the 100m and 200m in meet-record setting fashion, running the fastest times in the world this year in the process. His 200m time of 19.62 is the 2nd fastest ever in the 200m. His time of 9.84 in the 100m finals was the largest at the US Championships in at least 30 years.

Campbell turns in fastest 100m this year in Jamaican National Meet
Former Barton County Community College Olympic Gold Medal winner Veronica Campbell continued to run among the elite sprinters in the world, turning in the fastest 100m in world this year during her gold medal efforts at the Jamaican National Championships recently. Campbell took the sprint double winning the 200m as well. She was one of several former Cougars who showed well at the event.
