Junction City duo signs with Barton softball
The Barton County Community College softball team picked up a pair of Junction City High School players with the signings of Christine Cervera and Melissa Boller. Cervera will be an infielder and pitcher for the Cougars while Boller will play the outfield at Barton. Cervera is the sister of Keri Cervera, a former Barton softball player.

Humphrey joins teammate at Barton
The Barton County Community College softball team signed another Shawnee Heights softball player, adding Erin Humphrey to the roster for the upcoming season. Humphrey played 2nd base for Shawnee Heights the past 2 season, playing on a pair of state tournament teams. She joins Shawnee Heights teammate Grace Toelkes as a Cougars softballer next season.

Barton inks two more softball players from Texas
The Barton County Community College softball team added two more players from south Texas recently, signing Georgette Garza and Jennifer Jackson. Both players come to Barton from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi. The area has been a hotbed this year for Barton as the Cougars also signed the top player in the region in Camille Cruz.

Barton softball signs all state pitcher from Topeka
The Barton County Community College softball team signed an all-state pitcher recently as Grace Toelkes inked to play for the Cougars and Coach Tom Curtis next season. Toelkes just completed her senior season at Shawnee Heights in Topeka, leading her team to the Class 5A state tournament where the Thunderbirds fell in the 1st round to the eventual champion.

Barton inks top softball player in South Texas
The Barton County Community College softball team signed a prize recruit this past weekend, nabbing the South Texas MVP in pitcher Camille Cruz. Cruz is a graduate of Gregory-Portland High School in a suburb of Corpus Christi, where she helped her school to the Region semifinals this past season. Cruz turned in an impressive senior season, going 27-6 for the Cats this past season.

Barton earns home split with Colby
The Barton County Community College softball team split two close games in Great Bend against their Jayhawk West foe, the Colby Trojans. The Cougars lost a defensive battle in the first game by a final score of 1-0 in 10 innings. Barton found themselves on the better end of a one run lead at the end of the second game, earning a 4-3 victory. The split brings Barton’s record to 11-32 on the season, 3-11 in conference play as they head into their last home game of the regular season on Thursday against Seward County.

Barton spilts contest with West foe Pratt
The Barton County Community College softball team split a pair of extra inning games with Pratt Wednesday afternoon at Cougar Fields in Great Bend. Barton won the opening contest in 10 innings by a 4-3 score then fell in the 2nd contest as Pratt scored 8 runs in the top of the 8th inning by a 15-9 margin. The split gives the Cougars a 5-7 mark in conference play, good for 5th place. Barton is now 8-22 overall. Pratt moves to 2-6 in the West and 4-23 for the season with the split.
