Notes

Cowley has won 12 straight games since a loss at Indy back in January. That was the only loss in the Jayhawk East for the Tigers. The other loss came in November against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.....Cowley is the only ranked team from the Region, currently ranked No. 9.....Chris Rhymes (16.3), Eric McKinney (10.8), Preston Brown (9.8), Reggie Cook (7.7) all came to Cowley this year after playing for Coach Steve Eck at Redlands College last season. The only other sophomore is Montrell McDonald (13.3), who transferred from George Washington University before sitting out last season at Redlands.....Cowley shots nearly 57% from the field this season.

The match-up pits the 2 hottest teams in the Region as Barton is riding a 7-game winning streak, the longest in the tournament other than Cowley's 12-game streak. The 7-game winning streak is the longest of the season for the Cougars who had 3 streaks of 6 straight before moving the current streak to 7 with an overtime win over Allen to start the Region VI playoffs. Qa'rraan Calhoun scored 33 in that win, the highest total for a Cougar this year surpassing a pair of 30-point efforts from Chris Jackson.....Barton is shooting neary 40% on 3-pointers this season, hitting 267-of-676 for .395. The 267 makes is 2nd best all-time at Barton. The record is 310 set in 1990-91.
