| Barton is off to an 0-2 start to the West season and things don't get any easier with road games at Cloud (1-0) and Seward (1-1). Last season during the same stretch of games Barton went 0-4 but still tied for 2nd overall in the West. The difference last season was Barton 7-1 in the 1st time through the conference slate when this stretch of games occurred.....Chris Jackson leads 4 Cougars in double figure scoring this season at 16.6 per game. Qa'rraan Calhoun is close behind at 16.5.....Calhoun has verbally committed to play for the University of Houston next season and Sandy Perry at Marist College. |
Cloud tied for the conference title 2 years ago and made the Region VI semifinals last season, losing to eventual Region VI champion Coffeyville. The Thunderbirds are 1 of 3 unbeaten so far this year in the conference at 1-0. Hutch is also 1-0 with Colby the lone 2-0 team in the West.....The Thunderbirds are led in scoring by Jemal Farmer at 16.6 per contest. He is 1 of 3 T-Birds in double figures. Cloud is 6-1 at home this season with the only loss coming to Iowa Western.....Cloud has won 2 of the past 3 meetings between the teams in Concordia. Barton has won 4 of the past 6 at Bryant Gym and lead 17-12 overall in Concordia. |
