Cougar men and women take 5th at NJCAA National Meet
For just the 3rd time in school history, the Barton County Community College men’s and women’s track teams placed in the Top 5 at the NJCAA National Meet. The Cougars men and women both took 5th at the meet this past weekend at Rim Rock Farm near Lawrence. The two clubs also both had Top 5 efforts in 1992 and 2000.

Barton women take 2nd in Region VI Cross Country Meet
The Barton County Community College women’s cross country team turned in a good performance at the Region VI Meet held in Great Bend, taking 2nd place in Division I at the event. The Cougars were beaten by Butler County, ranked No. 1 in the latest Hill-N-Dale Top 10. Barton also finished 2nd in the Jayhawk West portion of the event, again finishing behind just Butler County.

Barton men place 3rd in Region VI Cross Country Meet
The Barton County Community College men’s cross country team took 3rd at the Region Meet Monday held in Great Bend. The Cougars were 3rd in the Division I portion of the Region VI and placed 4th in the Jayhawk West.

 

Cougars place 4th at KU Invite
The Barton County Community College men’s cross country team took 4th place at the Kansas University Invitational over the weekend. The University of Kansas won the meet followed by Cowley County and Butler County.

Raines wins Barton County Harrier Invitational
Jakes Raines led the Barton County men to a 3rd place finish in the season opening Barton County Harrier Invitational on the Cougars’ home course Thursday. Butler County won the event followed by Cowley County. The Cougar women placed 2nd at the meet behind Butler.

 

Annual White Line Fever 10 Mile Run & Relay Set For Labor Day
The 26th Annual White Line Fever 10-Mile Run & Relay, from Great Bend to Hoisington, will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Labor Day, Sept. 1. White Line Fever takes place on a USATF certified course.
Barton County Community College, Cougar Booster Club, Eagle Radio, Brooke Corp. -- The Insurance Shoppe, International Tours of Great Bend, The Tribune, Community Bank of the Midwest and Ryan Wolf are sponsoring the run and relay this year.
