Ian was a four year starter at Wichita Independent where he was a two-time all-state pitcher and shortstop.  He comes from a successful high school and summer program that competed each year for state championships.  Ian will compete for a starting spot at second base and will also play a key role in the bullpen.  He is the son of Bill and Karen Smith

5 - Brandon Hoefler

Two year starter at Manhattan High School where he hit .450 and was a perfect 10 for 10 stealing bases.  He earned All-Conference and All-State Honors as a senior.  Brandon was a part of back-to-back state legion championship teams.  He is one of the fastest players on the team and will compete for a starting outfield position. Brandon is the son of Steve & Brenda Hoefler.

7 - Jordan Hoefler

Attended Andale High School where he was a 3 year letter winner and two year starter.  Jordan had a record of 1-0 before his senior season was cut short due to a season ending injury.  He will add depth to our outfield this spring and will also be used out of the bullpen.  He is the son of Michael Hoefler and Kim Horsch.

8 - Hugo Hernandez

Comes to Barton as an International Student from Caracas, Venezuela.  He is a slick fielding infielder who can run and handle the bat.  He is making strides in the weight room and will be the starting shortstop this spring.  Hugo is the son of Hugo Hernandez & Maria Autonieta Augarita.

9 - Michael Edlefsen

Michael is from Bloomington, MN where he attended Bloomington Jefferson High School.  He is the last of three brothers to attend Barton.  Michael is a switch hitter and has above average speed.  He will compete for a starting spot at second base this spring.  He is the son of Brad and Mary Jane Edlefsen

Attended Northridge High School in Greeley, CO where he was a three year starter.  Michael hit 421 with 9 home runs and 50 RBI’s his senior season.  He earned All-State honors in 2008 and 2009 as well as All-Conference honors.  He is a big first baseman who can hit for both average and power.  Mike will compete for a starting spot at first base this spring.  He is the son of Susan Maree and Don Tennessen.

Comes from Trinity Academy in Wichita, KS.  Jordan was a four year starter and a 3 time All-State and All-Conference player.  He hit .562 his senior season and stole 30 bases.  Jordan will compete for a starting outfield position and will be our leadoff hitter this spring.  He lists his hobbies as dancing, fishing, Chipotle and Popeyes, going to the lake, women, and just living the dream.  He is the son of Steve and Julie Slade.

13 - Mitch Slauter

Mitch comes to Barton from Olathe North High School in Olathe, KS.  He was all everything in high school, All City, All League, All Johnson County, and All Metro.  He is a talented catcher who will bring some power to the middle of our lineup.  He will compete for the starting catcher position this spring.  He is the son of Darryl and Tresa Slauter.

14 - Robby Van Cour

Attended Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, TX and was a high school teammate of current Cougar Drew Martineau.  He compiled a 2.95 earned run average this summer for the Catawba Valley Stars and was one of our best pitchers this fall.  Robby has a live arm and his best baseball is in front of him, he will be our closer this spring.  He is the son of Joe and Erin Marshall.

16 - Landon Fall

Attended Lee Summit North High School where he was a two year starter.  Landon is a great all around athlete and lettered in Baseball, Football, and Basketball in High School.  He will be a two way player this spring but will make a big impact on the mound.  He is consistently improving and has developed one of the top breaking pitches in the conference.  Landon is the son of James & Julie Fall.

17 - Tayler Davis

Comes from Centennial, CO and Arapahoe High School where he was the number 1 starter on his high school team.  Tayler is a lengthy left-hander who has continued to develop this fall.  He will play a key role on our pitching staff either as a starter or as a reliever.  He is the son of  Bruce and Jean Davis.

18 - Drew Martineau

Three year starter for Reagan High School in San Antonio, TX.  As a senior, he went 9-1 as a starter with a 2.30 ERA and earned All-District Honors.  His senior season he was selected to pitch in the San Antonio High School All- Star Game.  Drew can command all three pitches and will play a vital role out of the bullpen this spring.  Drew is the son of Dennis & Cindy Martineau.

20 - Ryan Busboom

Attended Freeman High School in Cortland, NE where he earned All-State honors in Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Track.  He played for the KC Metro Stars this past summer hitting .510 with 11 home runs.  Ryan is a great athlete who is learning to play the game at a high level.  He will compete for the starting third base position and hit in the middle of our lineup.  He is the son of Eugene and Bonnie Busboom.

Comes from a successful program in Andover Central where he started on the mound and in the outfield for three years.  Ben has a 1.50 ERA his senior season and led Andover Central to a trip to the State Tournament.  He will play an important role on our pitching staff this spring in several different roles.  He lists his hobbies and interests as long walks, training his german shepherds, and painting.  He is the son of Todd and Lori Minnihan.

24 - Charles Trottier

Attended Cardinal Roy High School in Quebec City, Canada.  Charles brings a work ethic and knowledge of the game to the Cougars.  He will be counted on behind the plate and to be an offensive threat.  Charles is the son of Mario Trottier & Johanne Reny.

Attended St. John High School where he was an All-State football player and started on the basketball team.  Nate is a great athlete and can hit for average, hit for power, and run.  He is catching up to the speed of the game and will compete for a starting spot in the outfield this spring.  He is the son of Carl and Susan Miller and Edie Miller.

27 - Dominic Fazio

Dominic was a two year starter at Shawnee Mission South High School.  His senior season he earned All-League honors and hit .353 with 29 RBI’s and 11 stolen bases.  He has a good knowledge of the game and comes from a great summer program.  Dominic will compete for a starting position in the outfield and had a great fall offensively.  He listed his interests as the Boston Red Sox.  Dominic is the son of Don and Connie Fazio.

Attended Larned High School and was the first player from Larned to letter all four years.  Augie hit .318 his senior season with 2 home runs, 35 RBI’s, and 17 stolen bases.  He lettered in Baseball, Football, and Basketball as well as excelling in the classroom.  Augie is a great athlete and continues to get better on the baseball field.  He will compete for playing time at shortstop this season.  He is the son of Stan and Kim Morton.

29 - Matt Kessler

Was a four year starter at Horizon High School in Thornton, CO.  Matt earned All-Conference and All-Region honors his junior year but was slowed by an injury his senior season.  He is recovering from arm surgery and had a great fall off the mound.  Matt has a great work ethic and is an excellent student.  He will play an important role on our pitching staff this spring.  He is the son of Martin and Rebecca Kessler.

30 - Lance Woltemath

Comes from Revere Jr./ Sr. High School in Sedgwick, Colorado.  As a senior, he hit .547 with 15 homeruns and 40 RBI’s.  He earned All-Conference and All-State Honors as well as being selected as the 2A State Player of the Year.  Lance made tremendous strides defensively this fall and will compete for several starting positions on the infield.  Lance is the son of Danny & Nelda Woltemath.

Attended Colby High School where he was teammates with current Cougar Cory Sager.  He was 11-0 with a 1.87 ERA his senior season to go along with his .540 average and 8 home runs.  Levi was the 4A Kansas Player of the Year and earned All-State honors as a pitcher and outfielder.  He is a great athlete and lettered in baseball, cross country, and basketball in high school.  Levi is an important addition to our pitching staff and will hit in the middle of our lineup this spring.  He is the son of Larry and Mary Schlick.

Ben was a four year starter at Andover Central High School where he was teammates with Ben Minnihan.  He was 8-0 with a 1.74 ERA his senior season to go along with his .486 batting average and 2 home runs.  Ben helped lead Andover Central to several League and Region Championships.  He was the 4A Kansas Pitcher of the Year his junior season and earned several All-State and All-League Honors.  Ben is a key player on our pitching staff and will have a big impact this spring.  He is the son of Ron and Mimi French.

35 - Dylan Monroe

Attended Wichita Northwest High School where he was a two year starter.  Dylan earned All-State and All-City honors at third base.  Dylan works extremely hard on the baseball field and in the classroom.  He continues to get better and will compete for a starting position at third base.  He is the son of Jeff and Michelle Monroe.

Was a four year starter at Haxton High School in Colorado.  Kendall hit .480 his senior season with 5 home runs.  He earned All-State and All-Conference honors.  He also lettered in basketball and football.  Kendall is catching up to the speed of the game and can do some good things offensively.  He continues to make strides offensively and has a good work ethic.  He is the son of Bryan and Tammy Kroeger and Bob and Margo Saudin. 

42 - Manny Allende

Many was a two year starter at Great Bend High School where he earned All-Conference Honors.  He hit .490 with 2 home runs and 41 RBI’s his senior season.  Manny helped lead Great Bend High School to back-to-back Conference Championships.  He is an excellent athlete and continues to improve each day.  He will compete for a starting position at first base and in the outfield.  Many is the son of Victor and Guadalupe Allende.

43 - Kyle Leroy

Kyle was a two year starter at Great Bend High School and was a teammate of current Cougar Manny Allende.  He earned All-Conference Honors and also helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back WAC Titles.  Kyle was 5-1 with a 1.80 ERA his senior season.  He had a great fall off the mound and will be used a lot out of the bullpen this season.  Kyle is the son of Mark and Lea Ann Leroy.

Gus comes to Barton from Buhler High School where he was a three year starter and an all-conference second baseman.  His senior season he hit .320 and was a perfect 12 of 12 stealing bases.  Gus is a solid athlete and a good student and continues to improve with each practice.  He is the son of Rudy and Kelly Garcia.
